opportunity for+ n. , opportunity for+ v -ing, opportunity+to- v

这三种用法意思相同，只是opportunity for+ n. 用的不普遍；而opportunity for+ v -ing在美国不如opportunity+to- v 用的普遍，在英国则相反。

opportunity, chance, occasion, time

这组词都指有利于某种目的的事态或形势的“时机，机会”。其区别是：

opportunity指为做某事提供了开端的形势，特别是适合于自己的爱好、抱负、愿望的形式；occasion指提供了引起某种行动的好时机；chance指幸运地或偶然地到来的机会，在否定的表达中则指正常的或公正的机会；break指侥幸的机会，通常是好机会；而time则指适时的机会。例如：

opportunity, possibility

这两个词的意思相近，但不相同，其区别是：

1.opportunity的意思是“机会”；而possibility的意思是“可能”。

2.opportunity用于have the opportunity to- v / v -ing结构；而possibility用于there is a possibility of sth happening结构。
